Having nearly 30 years of investment industry experience, Michael has achieved extensive knowledge of a vast array of investment vehicles and how to use them in developing customized wealth management strategies. He began his career as a financial advisor with Gruntal & Co. in 1994, moved to Ryan Beck & Co. in 2002 when it acquired Gruntal, and joined Stifel in 2007 upon its acquisition of Ryan Beck & Co.
Michael helps his clients pursue their financial objectives with strategies designed toward capital preservation. To do this, he first takes the time to gain a comprehensive understanding of each client’s personal goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon. Clients are taken through Stifel’s unique wealth planning process, which addresses critical items, such as tax planning, inflation, Social Security benefits, and healthcare costs. A high-quality, thoughtful, and customized plan is then created to serve as a roadmap for each individual client.
Michael manages over $750 million in client assets and holds the Accredited Asset Management Specialist™ designation, which identifies those individuals who have received specialized training in wealth management and risk mitigation strategies, tax-efficient investment strategies, and estate planning issues. He earned a B.S. from Syracuse University and holds Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses, as well as life, health, and variable insurance licenses (including annuities).
Michael is a member of Stifel’s Chairman’s Council, a board member of his community association, and a lifetime member of the Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Michael resides in Tenafly, New Jersey, and has two adult sons, Alex, a University of Delaware graduate, and Tyler, a senior at Penn State University.
Above all else, Michael and his team pride themselves on building deep personalized relationships that often carry on for generations while striving to deliver an exceptional standard of service.
For 2023, the Stifel Chairman’s Council consisted of 240 of the top-producing financial advisors selected from the more than 2,300 Stifel advisors.
